Golf+ began in Dothan, AL as a ProGolf Discount franchise in 1988. The store was opened by Dr. William Watson, who had a passion for golf and saw the need for a larger golf store in the Wiregrass. Around 2010, the franchise as a whole was struggling, and so Golf+ was born as an independent retailer. Shifting the focus from merely a retail golf store to a custom fitting facility, owner Alan Watson, Dr. Watson's son saw the future of golf retail and knew that fitting was taking over.

Today, Alan and his team continue their focus on fitting, along with top-notch repairs and an assortment of retail products. Golf+ has expanded to two locations, with the latest store opening in Panama City Beach, FL, in late 2020.
